No person can function without stimulation and challenges, and stressful situations are an excellent source of these challenges. They provide the excitement, impetus, and motivation, but unfortunately, also the distress and anxiety. Our bodies have the ability to get ready for action, and equally the innate ability to unwind and relax. Relaxing is the body's chance to restore homeostasis or equilibrium through the parasympathetic nervous system and quieting of the endocrine system. However, with our fast-paced and busy lifestyles, many people are constantly stuck in a state of heightened stress. These people are then physically, mentally, and emotionally unable to relax and are in need of therapy. This course will teach you relaxation therapy techniques that you can use to fight the stress demon of our times.
